Vacation of Pratt Road between bike trails and Marchall Bluff

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Board of Supervisors of the Town of Mount Pleasant will hold a public hearing on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Monticello Community Center/American Legion Building, 316 East Coates Avenue, Monticello, on a proposed resolution that the public interest requires the town to abandon the portion of Pratt Road extending from its intersection with Marshall Bluff Road to the western boundary of the Sugar River Trail right of way. A copy of the resolution and the description of the portion of Pratt Road to be abandoned are available for inspection on the Town of Mt. Pleasant website at www.townofmtpleasantwi.com or by contacting the Town Clerk at 608.938.1370.

Proposed Resolution for the VACATION OF PRATT ROAD

RESOLVED, that the public interest requires that the town road known as Pratt Road in the Town of Mt Pleasant be discontinued pursuant to Wis. Stat.ยง66.1003 from (i) the point at which it intersects the right of way of Marshall Bluff Road to (ii) the point at which it intersects the west boundary of the bicycle trail known as the Sugar River Trail, effective October 1, 2010, provided, however, that there shall be reserved a perpetual easement equal to the width to the right of the way of said discontinued road and extending from (x) the point at which such town road intersects the right of way of Marshall Bluff Road to (y) a point fifty feet west of the intersection of the right of way of Pratt Road and the west bank of the Little Sugar River, such easement to be solely for the benefit of existing and future owners of land abutting that portion of the Pratt Road right of way over which such easement is reserved, and for the benefit of the State of Wisconsin and its instrumentalities, agents or contractors for the purpose of maintaining or removing the truss bridge that currently spans the Little Sugar River as part of Pratt Road, all as shown in the legal description and map that is Exhibit A# to this resolution.
